Medical Focus

The Encino Recovery and Detox Center has Board Certified Addictionologist MD’s and full-time nurses on staff to oversee and supervise a safe detoxification. The Encino Recovery and Detox Center understands that effective addiction treatment cannot be unrehearsed and are designed to take full advantage of neuroplasticity – our brain’s ability to adjust and heal itself by forming new neural connections to adapt and adjust to biological change, new situations, new experiences, and new relationships and environments.

Our medical focus is necessary because the detox process is not the same for all substances and all people.  Our clients have come to know and have faith in the experienced professionals who will care for them for 24 hours a day.

Clinical Focus

The following is a short list of treatment modalities within our residential treatment program:

We strongly believe that relationships are the antidote, to everything.

The Encino Recovery and Detox Center understands that although addiction and addictive behaviors may temporarily alleviate unwanted thoughts and or feelings, addiction and addictive behavior happens in the absence of healthy relationships. Over time, addiction interferes with creativity, intimacy, educational and occupational successes, and a person’s overall health and wellness. The Encino Recovery and Detox Center respectfully sees addiction as a chronic relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug seeking, continued use despite harmful consequences, and long-lasting changes in the brain.  It is considered both a complex brain disorder and a mental illness. Addiction is first identified by men and women as a helper to one’s emotional and physical stability.

The long-term goal is to create a master list of creative and relationally based alternatives that the person struggling with addiction can utilize when the urge to use arises. It is important to note that young adults do stop using and do eventually feel better – they are all people in need of consistent, relationship-oriented support, nurturance, and guidance. This program has as a foundational goal the desire to help reintroduce people to themselves, in a more loving way.

Together, the therapeutic relationship promotes health, creativity, stability and wellness. It is the relationship between patient, family, and therapist that helps to rebuild a connection with oneself and within the family. This program creates an opportunity to form relationships that are secure, safe, and honest. The Encino Recovery and Detox Center is a place where verbal communication is encouraged and supported, where the person struggling with addiction builds healthy attachments.

The Encino Recovery and Detox Center realizes that people who struggle with the effects of addiction and or mental health have often times endured many failed therapeutic interventions and/or repeated inpatient care. Our goal is to create a therapeutic partnership that creates lasting peace, safety, health and freedom. The Encino Recovery and Detox Center provides an opportunity to develop alternatives to the isolation, shame and loneliness: leading to more satisfying and intimate relationships with oneself and with others.
